The Right Channel for Every Question

uspropertysearch.org/ is an editorial guide. We cannot change a property record, certify a document, remove a record, or run a background report. This page explains exactly what we can help with, what we cannot, and where to send each kind of question.

What We Can Help With

  • Corrections to any county-office name, address, phone number, official link, or search-process detail on the site
  • Reports of broken links to a county office’s official .gov site or record-search tool — top-priority correction queue
  • Reports of office phone numbers that no longer answer or route correctly
  • Notification of a county changing or moving its record portal or GIS viewer
  • State privacy-rights requests (CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, CTDPA, CPA, UCPA, TDPSA, OCPA, etc.)
  • Cookie preferences and consent queries
  • Accessibility issues and reports of barriers using assistive technology
  • DMCA / copyright takedown notices under 17 U.S.C. §512
  • Press queries about the site, methodology, or editorial decisions
  • General feedback about a county guide

What We Cannot Help With

We are not a county office and not a consumer reporting agency

The items below are outside what an editorial guide can do. We have no access to county record systems and provide no background reports.

  • Changing, correcting, or certifying a property record — only the county office can do that
  • Removing a property record from a county database — apply to the county office (some states offer address confidentiality for at-risk individuals)
  • Running a tenant-screening, employment, credit, or background report — use a properly regulated consumer reporting agency (we are not a CRA)
  • Telling you a specific property’s current value, owner, lien, or tax amount — check the county’s live official tool
  • Title searches, title insurance, or legal advice — consult a title professional or attorney
  • Paid placement or “preferred listings” — we do not accept these
